My name is Gregory Ollivierre and I’m an aspiring Data Scientist with a keen interest in geophysics and data visualization. I graduated with a BSc in Mathematics and Physics in 2006 from the St. Augustine campus of the University of the West Indies and I have completed my Msc in Data Science from the same university in late 2020. I have worked at ION Geophysical as Senior Geophysicist for the past 10 years where I enjoyed condensing complex geological problems into simple data driven displays that inform key decision making. I am fascinated by all things tech related and I spend much of my free time on Coursera keeping up with recent developments. I enjoy coffee, travelling and anything chess related.
Shiva holds a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science with first-class honors and an M.Sc. Computer Science with distinction from the University of the West Indies. While completing his B.Sc., Shiva was a software developer under the AgriNeTT and CSRP projects at the DCIT.During his M.Sc., he was a data science intern for Massy Technologies, Trinidad. His project focused on optimizing vehicle imports for the company. Shiva has mentored students at the UWI for the ACM ICPC competition. In 2018, he led a team of students to participate in the regional competition in Cuba. He was also a part of the winning team for the bmobile Code Challenge in January 2019. Shiva was also the lead data scientist researcher assigned to the CIBC FICB project, taking place from July 2020 to March 2021.Shiva is currently a part-time tutor for the Department of Computing and Information Technology at the UWI, where he assists in courses ranging from software engineering to data analysis. His interests lie in data science and optimization, cybersecurity, and teaching.
Rajeev Ratan
Rajeev Ratan is a Data Scientist who obtained his MSc. in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Edinburgh and a BSc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of the West Indies. He currently works as a Senior Computer Vision Engineer at Darvis, a San Francisco-based, Computer Vision automation company. His research interests include Probabilistic Modeling, Deep Learning, and Computer Vision.
He has worked in several London tech startups as a Data Scientist, Computer Vision Engineer, and Software Developer. He was a cohort member of Entrepreneur First, a London-based startup incubator where he was the co-founder of an Edtech startup. Later on, he worked in tech startups involved in the Real Estate and e-Gambling sectors. He has created several online courses on Data Science and Computer Vision on Udemy, Packt Publishing, and Manning Publications. Before venturing into Data Science, Rajeev worked as a Radio Frequency Engineer for 8 years at two of the Caribbean's leading telecommunication companies TSTT and Digicel.
Nathan is a Senior Manager for Developer Relations at NVIDIA. Nathan has a background in analytic solutions and consulting. He has experience building data science teams, architecting analytic infrastructure, and delivering innovative data products. He is a long time user of R.
Jade Chattergoon
Jade Chattergoon holds a BSc in Computer Science and Mathematics with First Class Honors from the University of the West Indies. She currently works at TSTT as a Data Analyst where she builds reports including KPIs and metrics that are critical for the business and interactive statistical models for risk and finance analytics. She is part of the FAAIR team doing data science work in the field of Agriculture. She is a research intern at TTLAB and her research interests include AI in security, healthcare, agriculture and education. She is part of an international team who holds the Grand Prize in the DataEthics4All AI4NextGen Inaugural Hackathon. Jade is also co-founder of the Mathemaniacs Private Tutoring Service. Other than her academic interests in AI and application development, she is also passionate about food, gaming, music and art.
Vashish Dukharan
Vashish Dukharan was born and raised in South Trinidad. At 22 years old, Vashish graduated with a BSc. Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus in the class of 2022. During his course of study, he specialized in control systems and gained interest in troubleshooting software and hardware components of embedded systems. Prior to university, Vashish attended Presentation College, San Fernando where he attained secondary level education in Mathematics and Physics. Here, he developed a knack for computer science and technology which later led him to pursue his engineering degree. His interests include web development, data communication, automation, and all subsets of artificial intelligence.
Darren Ramsook
Darren Ramsook is a researcher in the field of deep learning and video processing.
Darren earned his BSc Electrical and Computer Engineering and MSc. Data Science from the University of the West Indies. He is currently a PhD Candidate at the Sigmedia Group in Trinity College Dublin.
In his research, Darren has explored a range of techniques for improving the visual quality of compressed video, including proxy based optimization and perceptual based optimization. Darren has presented his work to multiple well known tech companies. Looking to the future, Darren is excited about the potential for deep learning to continue advancing the field of video processing. He hopes to continue exploring new techniques for enhancing compressed video, and to collaborate with researchers and industry partners to bring these techniques to real-world applications.
Shankar Ramharack
Shankar has collaborated on EVSE Grid Integration and planning studies, MES load forecasting, and cable fault location using change point detection methods. He has experience in HV Testing, CAD drafting, electrical system design and installation at the residential, commercial and industrial levels. His interests include data-driven projects in climate change, business intelligence, energy planning and power system analysis. He enjoys running, hiking, kickboxing and learning languages.
